Sepoy
A sepoy was a professional Indian infantryman, usually armed with a musket. Large sepoy forces were employed by the British and other European powers through their companies, such as the East India Company.[1]

In 1841, sepoys under the East India Company were deployed under the Templar Alexander Burnes and Master Templar William Sleeman. Both men were sent to Amritsar, India to recover the Koh-i-Noor while their men, including their sepoys, stood guard against any Assassins, especially Arbaaz Mir. [2] After the loss of the Tosha Khana, a Precursor site in Amritsar, sepoys followed their Templar leaders to Herat, Afghanistan in hopes to find another site.[3]
While some of the soldiers were under attack by the Afghans, some stayed behind to guard the captured Mir at Katasraj Temple in Pakistan.[4] However, they were defenseless when Mir escaped and the fighting of the First Anglo-Afghan War reached their position. Once Mir reached the temple's courtyard, all of Burnes' soldiers watched as Mir and their leader Burnes dueled each other. However, after Burnes lost, the sepoys aimed their guns at Arbaaz, though Burnes held to his terms of surrender and released Mir on his own merit.[5]
Back in India, sepoys and fellow guards under Sleeman held Princess Pyara Kaur hostage under the Master Templar's orders. Nevertheless, despite their best efforts to stop and trap Mir, all of Sleemen's soldiers fell to Mir, who succeeded in saving Pyara and keeping the Koh-i-Noor, despite the loss of the Precursor box.[6]
