The Seer and Taimhotep inside the house

The Seer's House was the residence of the man known only as "The Seer" in Memphis, Egypt, during the 1st century BCE.

History[edit | edit source]

Located southwest of the Temple of Ptah, the residence was where Taimhotep, the wife of the High Priest of Ptah, Pasherenptah, went after her argument with her husband. The Medjay Bayek of Siwa followed her there, and took part in a ritual meant to save the child Taimhotep was pregnant with.[1]

Some time after said ritual, Bayek returned to the Seer's house to seek counsel concerning a recurring nightmare of his. The Seer was willing to help, but only after Bayek helped him deliver protective amulets to three persons in the city: a beggar, a philanderer, and an adventurer.[2]
