Rollo (Old Norse: Hrolfr; c. 860 – c. 932), also known as Rollo Stoutheart, or Rollo the Walker (Old Norse: Göngu-Hrólfr) was a Viking leader who became the first ruler of Normandy, a region in northern France. He was the founder of the House of Normandy, which produced numerous kings of England, including William the Conqueror.


Trivia

  • According to the Orkneyinga Saga, Rollo was said to have earned his epithet, "the Walker", because he "was so big, no horse could carry him".

Behind the scenes

Rollo is a historical character who appears in Assassin's Creed: Valhalla. He is voiced by Canadian actor Curtis Legault.
