Animus Hub, formerly known as Assassin's Creed: Infinity, is a game hub for the Assassin's Creed series. Coinciding with the release of Assassin's Creed: Shadows, it acts as a live-service platform which hosts the modern day storyline, serves as an entry point to the wider franchise for newcomers, and will eventually span numerous historical settings across titles and incorporate multiplayer.[1]

Development

The platform's conceptual title was first leaked on 7 July 2021 and reported by Bloomberg,[2] following which Ubisoft acknowledged the leaked project as genuine.[3] During an earnings call in October, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot revealed that Infinity will not be a free-to-play title.[4] During the 2022 Assassin's Creed Ubisoft Forward showcase, Marc-Alexis Côté clarified that Infinity would not be a game but a hub for all future games in the series as a starting point for players and would facilitate multiplayer in the future. Infinity will operate in-universe as an Animus for players to operate as they navigate the different time periods.[5] Two years later, in a mid-June 2024 interview, Côté revealed that the platform had been renamed to "Animus Hub".[6]
