Development
The conceptual title of the game was first leaked on 7 July 2021 and reported by Bloomberg,[1] following which Ubisoft acknowledged the leaked project as genuine.[2] During an earnings call in October, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot revealed that Infinity will not be a free-to-play title.[3] During the 2022 Assassin's Creed Ubisoft Forward showcase, it was revealed by Marc-Alexis Côté that Infinity will not be a game but a hub for all future games in the series as a starting point for players and would facilitate multiplayer in the future. Infinity will operate in-universe as an Animus for players to operate as they navigate the different time periods.[4]
