Moccus
Moccus was an Anglo-Saxon man from Glowecestrescire in the 9th century.
In the 870s, he fell in love with a local woman named Ermina, who soon became pregnant with his child. However, he went looking for Ermina, who left their community with no trace. From his search, he came to a nearby shrine, where he soon found her and the Viking shieldmaiden Eivor Varinsdottir. There, he saw that she delivered their baby, Eivor, and he vowed to stay and be with her, regardless of his reputation.[1]
Behind the scenes
His namesake comes from the Celtic god, Moccus, as alluded to by Ermina.
