The Japanese Brotherhood of Assassins, also known in modern times as the Osaka Brotherhood,[1] is the Guild of Assassins in Japan.
History
Feudal Japan
During the Warring states era, the Assassins worked to prevent the spread of the Templar influence in Japan, spread by Jesuit missionaries such as Francis Xavier and Alessandro Valignano. While the Templars recruited people such as Mochizuki Chiyome and Uesugi Kenshin, the Assassins recruited individuals from the ranks of the ninja and samurai, such as Hattori Hanzō and Yamauchi Taka. Over the years, the Japanese Assassins supported the ascension of the daimyo Tokugawa Ieyasu, eliminating his rivals along the way.[2]
Modern Era
Following the Great Purge of 2000, the remaining Japanese Assassins were present in Osaka. In 2013, their headquarters was attacked by the yakuza faction known as Onmoraki-Gumi, resulting in the death of the Japanese Mentor Kenichi Mochizuki. His wife, Saeko Mochizuki, led an attack on the Onmoraki-Gumi in retaliation, and took over the organization, subsequently using it as a front for the Assassin activities and leading as the Japanese Brotherhood's new Mentor.[3] 2012 December 4 the Assassins met with Gavin Banks cell Gavin gave them the guns his cell had bought from the Philippines as well as the contact information for their supplier there. The Japanese Assassins then gifted Gavin Banks cell with a new type of Animus headset that Saeko's team had stolen from an Abstergo Industries facility Saeko then warned Gavin that she feared the Templars were planning something big. In 2015, the Mentor of the Japansese Brotherhood's, Saeko Mochizuki, sent teams into South Korea, North Korea and China to aid the local Assassin cells as part of the Brotherhood's global hunt for Álvaro Gramática, the Abstergo scientist who became a top priority when the Assassins learned of his plan to reconstruct an Isu's body using a Shroud of Eden, and his laboratory.
