Heptarchy

The Anglo-Saxon Heptarchy was the group of 7 kingdoms that controlled the land that is now England. The collapse of the Heptarchy began in 829CE when Wessex took control of Essex, Kent, and Sussex.

Trivia

The kingdoms of East Anglia, Mercia, and Northumbria would eventually become one with Wessex following the invasion of the Great Heathen Army marking the creation of a unified England
The Norman Invasion of England in 1066 ended all Anglo-Saxon rule in England
