Ali ibn Muhammad (Persian: صاحبالزنج, died 883) also known as Sahib al-Zanj, was a rebel leader of the Zanj Rebellion. Though an ally to the Hidden Ones, he did not respect their creed, believing that true freedom had no constraints.[1]
In the 860s, he made the acquaintance of the young Hidden One Basim Ibn Ishaq.[2]
Behind the scenes
Ali ibn Muhammad is a historical figure who will appear in the 2023 video game Assassin's Creed: Mirage. He was first mentioned as a character in an Arabhardware interview with Lead Producer Fabian Salomon,[3] and was confirmed to be appearing by Narrative Director Sarah Beaulieu.[2]
