Gunnar was a Norse who worked as the chief blacksmith in Eivor's settlement of Ravensthorpe during the 9th century.[1]
Biography
Gunnar was a blacksmith lived in Fornburg during 9th century. He was a very skilled blacksmith. During sometime Gunnar crafted an axe for Eivor's father Varin, which even years later he would proudly declare it was one of his masterpieces.[2]
During the discussions between Varin and Raven Clan's alliance, Gunnar was among the people who was in the feast doing arm wrestling with other vikings in the feast. He later fought against the ambush of Kjotve the Cruel and survived the massacre.[3]
Gunnar continued to his smith job at Fornburg, and between work, he entered passionate yet all-too-brief relationships with a number of women, unable to find a steady companion. Sometime later when Eivor brought her father's axe to the smith, Gunnar upgraded it with some better quality materials.[2]
After Harald Fairhair's declaration of peace, Gunnar was among the others who decided to set sail for new lands.[4] He continued his smithy at their new settlement, Ravensthorpe, at England.[5]
