Døkkerland was the middle region of the realm of Niflheimr, between the outermost region of Kaldstad and the central lands of Nidheim.[1] The "dark industrial heart" of the reformed Niflheim, Døkkerland stood in sharp contrast to the frost-bitten Kaldstad, being marked by its foundries and molten lava.[2]

In Eivor Varinsdottir's visions of Odin's time at Niflheimr, the Isu battled his way through Døkkerland in his efforts to reach Hel at her castle, though also took the time to help the dwarves trapped there.[3] In these visions, the former King of the Goths Hjalmgunnar was the Lord of Døkkerland.[4]
