Ake was a Norse resident of Ravensthorpe during the 9th century.
Biography
Together with Thyra, Braun and Alwin, Ake lived at the Revellers' Hut in Ravensthorpe.[1]
Ake often helped with organizing the seasonal festivals at Ravensthorpe, including Yule and Ēostre. During the Ēostre festival he met with Viking shieldmaiden Eivor Varinsdottir near the northeastern border of Ravensthorpe to help complete a ritual requested by Alvis to ward off evil spirits. After lighting several fires around Ravensthorpe, Ake and Eivor defeated several animal spirits in combat.[2]
Behind the scenes
The name Ake is Germanic in origin, possibly derived from the name Anicho, meaning "ancestor".
