Customization

Customization is a gameplay mechanic of Assassin's Creed II, Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood and Assassin's Creed: Revelations. In the Tailor shops in all of the cities, the player can dye Ezio's clothing, although the possible color schemes depend on which city they are in. At any city, the player can always switch back to the default color for free. After buying a dye it won't remain unlocked. So if the player wishes to switch back to a dye after buying a different one, then it must be purchased again.
The Assassin's Creed II achievement "Perfect Harmony" can be unlocked by dying Ezio's clothes with both Wetlands Ebony and Wetlands Ivory. Both color schemes are available through tailors in Romagna/Forlì.
In Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, there are new dyes available, with each district (except the Vaticano district) offering new colors. Also instead of the colors always matching, both the outfit and cape can be dyes two different colors. In addition the colors of the Assassin Apprentices can be changed, though once an Apprentice reaches the Assassino rank, the only dye available is the Assassin White.
Assassin's Creed: Revelations also has new dyes, but they're not variable from district to district.
Dyes
- Main article: Tailors

Dyes have a common characteristic: a prefix on their names that states where the dye originated from.
- "Florentine" for Florence.
- "Tuscan" for Tuscany (Monteriggioni included).
- "Wetlands" for Romagna.
- "Venetian" for Venice.
- "Roman" for Rome
Trivia
- Getting the achievement "Perfect Harmony," by dyeing Ezio's outfit Wetlands Ebony and Wetlands Ivory, is a clear reference to Paul McCartney and Stevie Wonder's "Ebony and Ivory" hit, in which the first line of the track is "Ebony and Ivory live together in perfect harmony."
- Even if the Armor of Altaïr, Armor of Brutus and Armor of Ishak Pasha are dyed, the color of the robes (save the inside of the hood) will not change.
- In Revelations, The default robes are original Grey but it is possible to dye them assassin white which, in the game, is named Masyaf White.
