Adewale was a former slave, a member of the Assassin Order and Edward Kenway's first mate aboard the Jackdaw. During the Golden Age of Piracy, Adewale pointed out scenes of interest to the pirate Assassin, who could then intervene or ignore them.

Trivia

• Adewale is a Yoruba name from Nigeria, suggested to mean "crown has come home."
• Adewale has scarring across on his face, likely due to injuries inflicted upon him as a slave.
