Chrysaor (mythology)

Chrysaor was the son of Medusa and thus the brother of Pegasos in Greek mythology. With Callirrhoe, he also fathered the Giant Geryon.

Influence

During the Peloponnesian War, the Spartan misthios Kassandra obtained a sword named after the mythical figure, through an Animus modification made by the Assassin Layla Hassan, who relived Kassandra's memories in 2018. A likeness of Chrysaor was also depicted on the crest of a helmet of a set of armor inspired by his brother, Pegasos.

Behind the scenes

The name Chrysaor is derived from the Greek word χρῡσός (khrūsós), meaning 'golden'. The name is usually translated as 'he who has a golden sword'.
