Gorm's friend Stan found out about Hammerstein's Nazi allegiance, and Eddie was forced to kill him in order to protect Hammerstein's cover and prove his own allegiance to the Nazis.
By 1942, Eddie had risen up the ranks, incorporating himself into the SS and obtaining the rank of Untersturmfurher. After a surprise meeting with General Gero Kramer, Eddie once again, reaffirmed his allegiance to their cause and cast aside any attachment to Britain.
