The Temples were locations throughout the world built by the First Civilization, in order to prevent the repeat of a catastrophe that had led to their extinction.
History
According to Minerva, the Temples were built by the members of her race "who knew to turn away from war" – presumably meaning those who did not fight or did not want to fight in the war between the humans and the First Civilization.[1]
The temples were built as a way to counteract a disaster that had once before damaged the Earth, and had killed most of the humans and Those Who Came Before.
