The Tatmadaw (Burmese: တပ်မတော်, lit. "Grand Armed Forces") is the armed forces of Myanmar. Since 2021, it has controlled most of Myanmar following the coup d'état which installed a military junta in the country and resulted in the creation of the State Administration Council.[1]
Secretly, the Tatmadaw was allied with the Templar front-company Abstergo Industries, who helped it maintain control over the nation. After Abstergo tracked Noa Kim, Shimazu Sei, Yuki, and Nathan Zhang, who were in possession of a crescent-shaped Piece of Eden, to Yangon, the Tatmadaw helped the Templars hunt them down.[2] Ultimately, Abstergo's Sigma Team was able to eliminate Yuki,[3] capture Sei, and seize the Piece of Eden, although Noa and Nathan escaped Yangon with another artifact they had retrieved from the Shwedagon Pagoda.[4]
