Biography
Early life
Suphia was a healer who served as one of Nefertari's assistants in Nitria, a natron mine in the Saqqara Nome. At some point prior to 49 BCE, she met and fell in love with Rudjek, the Nomarch of the nome, becoming his mistress, and learning of his association with and cryptonym among the Order of the Ancients.[1] At some point in 48 BCE, Suphia found Rudjek's corpse in the Bent Pyramid, with his killer nowhere to be found. To ensure that her beloved would navigate the afterlife safely, Suphia buried his body in a tomb behind the main chamber, leaving mummified herons to honor his namesake. She also appropriated the shrine of Anubis within the pyramid for Rudjek, and visit occasionally to pay respect to him.[2]
Returning to Nitria, Suphia began plotting to chase and hunt down the ones responsible for Rudjek's death. She hunted down Minmontu, a worker in the mine who worked for the pharaoh Cleopatra, and had opposed Rudjek. Taking him to the hills behind the mine, Suphia murdered him, leaving a note to whoever might happen to find his corpse.[3] Suphia later discovered the killer's identity to be the Medjay Bayek of Siwa, who was brought back to Nitria by Nefertari after his encounter with Rudjek in the pyramid. However, before she could avenge Rudjek, the Medjay left the mine, returning to Siwa. In an attempt to lure him back to Nitria, Suphia began disrupting the shrines of Anubis around the mine and the Bent Pyramid to protect the workers in the mine. As an apparent result of her actions, Nitria became plagued with an increased amount of injuries and illnesses, leading many to believe an ill omen had struck the mine.[4]
Suphia's efforts succeeded as a few months later, Bayek returned to the mine to make amends with Nefertari, who later sent him to investigate the omen and restore the shrines around the mine. Suphia later offered to help Nefertari assist the rebels in the region, with Bayek serving as her escort which would give her the opportunity to kill Bayek.[1]
Death

Later that night, Suphia, along with the rebel Namrut, were accompanied by Bayek to the Ekdikesis Outpost, where Namrut and the rebels had sought refuge in. While Bayek and Namrut tended to the wounded, Suphia seized on the opportunity to lure Ptolemaic soldiers there so that she could kill both the rebels and Bayek at the same time. In order to do this, she lit up the brazier on one of the remaining pillars. Bayek and Namrut, however, were able to dispatch the soldiers.[1]
The Medjay then confronted Suphia atop the walls, learning of her identity as Rudjek's mistress. However, before she could stab Bayek with her knife, Namrut thrust a spear into her, throwing her down the walls, leading to her death.[1]
