Moira was an Anglo-Saxon woman who served as the chief herbalist and healer of the Viking jarl Halfdan Ragnarsson. She helped to treat Halfdan, who experienced illness, in terms of both his emotional health and his physical health.

Speaking to Eivor, Moira stated that Halfdan has been absent and their king has been lost in depression and paranoia. Moira was asked by Eivor about Halfdan and she stated that Halfdan is in Picheringa with his dog, Beonton. From their discussion, Moira saw Eivor leave to find their king.[5]
