Anen

Anen was a blacksmith who lived in Set-Ma'at near the Valley of the Kings during the 1st century BCE. He was the husband of Raia and the brother-in-law of Ranofer.

Biography[edit | edit source]

In 38 BCE, Anen's personal hammer was stolen by a group of tomb robbers from the Pillagers' Hideout, who used it to desecrate Ranofer's tomb in the necropolis above the village. Anen was thus framed for the incident and was captured by the Romans, who held him captive in a camp near the Tomb of Tutankhamun.[1]

However, Anen's capture was discovered by his wife Raia, who informed the Medjay Bayek of Siwa. Anen was freed from his imprisonment and directed Bayek to the location where the tomb robbers were based in.[1]
