Anen was a blacksmith who lived in Set-Ma'at, near the Valley of the Kings, Egypt during the reign of Cleopatra. He was the husband of Raia and the brother-in-law of Ranofer.
In 38 BCE, Anen's personal hammer was stolen by a group of bandits, who used it to desecrate Ranofer's tomb in the necropolis above the village.[1]
