Mentor was absolute leader of all Assassins who knew about each other and were connected. E.g. when Ezio - who was in Rome promoted to post of Mentor - arrived to Constantinopoli, he automatically became leader of Ottoman Assassins, despite Master Assassin Yusuf Tazim was in charge. These Assassin leaders were Master Assassins assigned to lead the branches of Assassins spread around the globe, who were awarded with the unofficial title of Mentor once they had trained a specific number of apprentices and received a high amount of skill and wisdom.[1]
