Anastasia during her time with Orelov

Grand Duchess Anastasia Nikolaevna Romanova of Russia (18 June 1901 – unknown) was the daughter of Tsar Nicholas II and the last survivor of the Romanov family.

Biography

During the Russian Revolution, which saw the Russian Imperial family overthrown, Lenin asked the Assassin Nikolai Orelov to kill Tsar Nicholas II. The tsar had just finished saying goodnight to Anastasia and her three sisters when he was confronted by Orelov. Recognizing the Assassin as the man who had once made an attempt on his father's life, Nicholas requested that his family be spared. However, Orelov was only interested in taking possession of the Romanov family's Imperial Scepter and left warning him that there would be a future assassination attempt.[1]

In 1918, Anastasia was rescued by Orelov when the Assassin infiltrated the house where the Bolsheviks were holding the Romanovs. There to steal an artifact for the Assassins, he witnessed the massacre of Anastasia's siblings and saved her, making her the sole survivor of the Russian Imperial family.[2]
