Faiyum, also known as Krokodilopolis in Greek, is a city in Egypt located in the Faiyum Oasis, west of the Nile and south of Cairo. During the reign of Ptolemy XIII, Berenike was the Nomarch of the region and city.

In 48 BCE, the Medjay Bayek travelled to the city in search of Shadya's killer. Reuniting with Kensa, a old friend of his, Bayek rose through the ranks of the Gladiator Arena and learned of Berenike's identity as the killer and a member of the Order of the Ancients, The Crocodile.

Bayek tracked Berenike to her villa in the Kerkesoucha Granary, killing both her and Kensa, who had been employed by the former.
