The Katasraj Mandir is a Hindu temple complex located around the sacred Katas pond, near Choa Saidanshah in the Chakwal district of Punjab, in Pakistan.
The complex encompasses multiple styles and buildings, some of them being more distinct, like those dedicated to Ramachandra, Hanuman and Shiva.
History
The complex contained smaller temples dating from 5th century BCE, with more temples added to the complex in the 4th century.[1] During the mid-19th century, the temple was visited by the Indian Assassin Arbaaz Mir.[2] The complex was eventually abandoned in 1947 after the Hindus migrated to East Punjab, though a few still go on pilgrimage to the Mandir.[1]
