Eluric was a Anglo-Saxon man, who lived in Maeldun, Essexe, in the 9th century. One of the inhabitants of Maeldun, Eluric was shown to be the brother of a woman named Alfida, until he found out that Alfida was actually his mother.
Biography
Early Life
As a child, Eluric grew up in Maeldun and raised solely by Alfida, as she lied to him about his true parentage. As he grew up, Eluric was seen as strong-hearted but somewhat soft as well. For his whole life, Eluric lived besides Alfida, as she took care of him without any outside help.[1]
Finding out the Truth

In 875, a Eluric whimpering was found by the Viking shieldmaiden Eivor Varinsdottir of the Raven Clan in the shed nearby his home as he begged Eivor to not kill him or hurt him. Speaking to one another, Eluric introduced himself to Eivor and stated that Alfred's men took Alfida for interfering with a matter and caged her at the Brentwood Outpost.[1]
Doubtful, Eluric wished Eivor the best in saving his sister, Alfida, as he made his way to the Lake House, per Eivor's instructions. At the Lake House, Eluric waited for them and was soon delighted at their survival from Alfred's soldiers. Afterwards, once the Ealdorman Birstan arrived, Eluric gave both Alfida and Birstan privacy.[1]

At the Ealdorman's house, a party was held for Birstan and Alfida. However, the greeting was cut short as Eluric walked in and insulted Alfida's choices. Arguing, Eluric stated that this whole farce was contingent on his love and commitment to her. Eluric also doubted his worth and almost insulted Alfida. However, Eluric was stopped once Alfida told him that Birstan was the father of her child. To everyone's shock, Eluric looked and became angry as he realized that Alfida is his mother and Birstan is his father. Eluric promised Alfida that he will not forgive her and left abruptly as Alfida fell to the floor.[2]
Eivor later encountered Eluric to the North of the town, drinking. She encouraged him to forgive his parents and to go back to them.[2]
Battle of Cippanhamm
In 878, Eluric, along with many of Eivor's allies, came to fight against King Alfred in the battle of Cippanhamm. Eluric was seen in a conversation between himself, Vili Hemmingson, and Hunwald. It appeared Eluric came back after the last argument with his parents and forgave Alfida and saw her as his mother.[3]
Within the battle, from both Ljufvina Bjarmarsdottir and Hjorr Halfsson, a call was heard that one of the "Saxon boys" was wounded. As Eivor came, Eluric was in dispair over not protecting Hunwald well. Eluric followed as Eivor carried Hunwald to a nearby farmhouse and laid him down. By Hunwald's side, Eluric stood by as Eivor and Hunwald talked about Hunwald meeting his father and proving himself worthy. As Hunwald succumbed to his wounds, Eluric stayed with Hunwald. After the battle was won, Eluric was one of the attendees of the funerals of Soma, Hunwald, and Hjorr.[3]
