"My God names you the Crow-Eyed Devil. And He sends out his angels to find you and kill you. And then they will fling you into the pits of Hell, demon."
―Aelfwyn to Eivor before dying, 870s.[src]-[m]

Aelfwyn (died 870s) was an Anglo-Saxon nun who lived during the 9th century.

A devoted member of the church dedicated to Saint Edmund, Aelfwyn dedicated herself to eliminating any trespassing Vikings, considering them as sinners who despoil the sacred grounds. By the 870s, she based herself at a ruined church in East Anglia that was dedicated to Saint Edmund and had killed numerous Vikings who entered the church.[1]

When Viking shieldmaiden Eivor Varinsdottir of the Raven Clan entered the church, she met Aelfwyn who treated her as a tresspasser too. Aelfwyn attacked Eivor, forcing her to defend herself and defeat Aelfwyn in battle.[1]
