Caersws as seen from the river

Caersws was a small Anglo-Saxon village build along the the River Severn in the northern part of the region. It featured seven houses.

In the 9th century, it was raided multiple times by Viking shieldmaiden Eivor Varinsdottir of the Raven Clan, Vagn, and their raiding crew on his longship.[1]
