Bárid mac Ímair (died 881) was the Norse-Gaelic King of Dublin in late 9th century Ireland. He was the son of the Viking leader Ímar and had a son named Sichfrith. Through Rosta, he was a cousin of the shieldmaiden Eivor Varinsdottir. [citation needed]
By the time the Eivor of the Raven Clan ventured to Dublin, the Viking expansion in Ireland was already over, as they had already been defeated by by High King Aed Findliath. After defeating the Vikings, Aed installed Barid mac Imair as the King of Dublin.[1]
