Braun was a Anglo-Saxon resident of Ravensthorpe in England during the 9th century.
During festivals in Ravensthorpe, Braun often held a drinking competition where festivalgoers could win festival tokens by defeating him in the contest. Shieldmaiden Eivor Varinsdottir drank him under the table and defeated him during the Yule and Ēostre festivals.[1]
