Bragi was a Viking who served as a skald to members of the Raven Clan who had followed Eivor Varinsdottir to England.
He was known among his clanmates for telling ship stories, a fact for which they mocked him, saying he had too vivid an imagination for the tales to be real.[1]
Biography
One of the more senior members of the clan, Bragi was present at the feast in the village of Heillboer in 855 whereby Eivor's parents Varin and Rosta pledged their service to King Styrbjorn. He also participated in the defense of the village after Kjotve the Cruel led a raid that saw the deaths of Eivor's parents. Bragi survived the encounter and went on to become one of Eivor's companions following her adoption by Styrbjorn.[2]
