Milan (Italian: Milano) is a city located in northern Italy. During the Renaissance, it was a target of Rodrigo Borgia's plot to unite Italy under the Templar banner.
History
In 1476, Galeazzo Maria Sforza, the Duke of Milan, and Lorenzo de' Medici of Florence formed an alliance, strengthening their own positions and undermining Templar efforts to claim the cities. Consequently, Sforza was assassinated by three Templar agents – Carlo Visconti, Gerolamo Olgiati and Giovanni Andrea Lampugnani – on Saint Stephen's Day. Having learned of this plot through the interrogation of a captured soldier, the Assassin Giovanni Auditore da Firenze travelled to Milan to prevent Sforza's assassination, but ultimately failed.[1]
On Christmas Day of 1944, in the midst of World War II, Milan became the rendezvous for a meeting between a Templar agent of Abstergo Industries, Keith Scipione, and a member of the Baguttiani family. There, Scipione brought a large sum of money in exchange for the Piece of Eden known as the Shroud.[2]
