"In 1910, our founders designed the plan. It falls to us to see it through."
―An unnamed Templar, mentioning Olds in a speech to fellow Templars around the globe, 1944.[src]

Ransom "Ranny" Eli Olds (1864 – 1950) was a pioneer in the automobile industry, a member of the Templar Order, and one of the founders of Abstergo Industries.

Biography

Working with his fellow Templar Henry Ford, Olds designed the assembly line to increase production;[1] which he put to work in his Olds Motor Vehicle Company factory in 1901,[2] producing the first mass-produced automobile, the Oldsmobile Curved Dash.[3]

More secretly, he helped formulate the Templar "Plan" in 1910, designed to take control of the capitalist market.[4]

On 22 July 1944, he was noted as being a founder of Abstergo and praised for his and Ford's innovation of the assembly line. This was mentioned by an Abstergo Templar who, while noting the importance of their efforts, stated that they wished for a time when such a chain becomes unnecessary.[4]

Legacy

Details of Olds' Templar allegiance and his part in the founding of Abstergo were later collected by the Assassin Clay Kaczmarek in 2012, and hidden in the Animus for his successor, Desmond Miles, to find; which the latter did in October of that year.[5]

By 2014, new employees of Abstergo Entertainment were told all about the great deeds of Olds and Ford in their welcome package.[6]
