Augusta, also known as Augusta the Cheerful, was an Anglo-Saxon flyter who lived in Lunden, England during the 9th century.
During the 870s, Augusta encountered the Viking shieldmaiden Eivor Varinsdottir and challenged her to a reversed flyting challenge, trading compliments instead of rude remarks, which Eivor won.[1]
