Abbasiyah as seen from the Dome of the Ass

Abbasiyah was the southwestern district of Baghdad and served as the city's main cultural hub. It was home to the famous House of Wisdom where various intellectuals gathered and transmited knowledge from the Abbasid Caliphate and beyond.[1]
