Surus was a war elephant stationed in a Roman military camp in the Green Mountains region of Cyrenaica.
In around 47 BCE, Surus was hunted down by the Medjay Bayek of Siwa before it could be deployed for use in the Roman Army.

- Surus, meaning 'the Syrian', was also the name of Hannibal Barca's personal war elephant and the longest surviving of the 37 he brought across the Alps in his failed invasion of Rome.
