We do this together or not at all.

It has been proposed that this page be merged with Town crier and Herald, under the article: Herald. Discussion to this effect can be held on the former article's talk page.

A munadi

In 9th century Baghdad, a Munadi was a citizen who fulfiled the roles of heralds, informing the Baghdadi of recent news and announcements made by the caliph.

In the 860s, through the use of a token, the Hidden One Basim Ibn Ishaq could bribe a munadi to reduce his notoriety for killing the guards in the city.[1]
