Manuel Mendoza was a mysterious individual that wandered the globe. After having tried out a multitude of identities and professions, including that of a pirate, he eventually settled down as a humble coffee farmer. He was known to disappear for long stretches of time to serve an unknown cause.
In 2013, his genetic memories were used as an Animi Avatar by the entertainment branch of the Templar company Abstergo Industries, to influence the general public via the Animus games console, under the title of the Wayfarer.
Trivia
- Manuel is a name derived from Hebrew Immanu'el, meaning "God is with us." Mendoza is a surname of Basque origin, meaning "cold mountain."
