The Mandarin's House (Portuguese: Casa do Mandarim) is a mansion complex near the Church of Saint Lawrence in Macau, China.
In 1725, the mansion was being used by visiting Qing dynasty officials and their allies. In February 1725, Madam Lee, a powerful merchant who controlled all of Macau's salt and sugar trades, moved into the Mandarin's House along with her guards. While infiltrating the site to acquire a logbook Lee had purchased,[1] the Assassin Edward Kenway was forced to help Lee's guards fend off an attack by Shimazu clan ninja led by the Templar Shimazu Saito, who sought the same logbook and retreated after managing to steal it.[2]
Behind the scenes
The mansion's appearance in Assassin's Creed: Forgotten Temple is an anachronism. The actual building was constructed for Qing theoretician and reformist Zheng Guanying and completed only in 1869, 144 years after its appearance in the webtoon.[3]
