L'Au (unknown - c. 1791) was a French colonel who orchestrated a series of brutal mail-coach robberies in Paris during the French Revolution, all performed in the Les Invalides district.
L'Au had a henchman named Jacques deliver the stolen items to him through packages, using the Revolution as a means to get money.
L'Au's actions caught the attention of the Assassins, who sent Arno Dorian to stop his operation. Arno tailed Jacques and killed him, stealing the package. Once at L'Au's headquarters, Arno told the guards that Jacques couldn't make it and gave them the package, in the process learning the identity of the mastermind, L'Au. Though he was shoved off by the guards, Arno eventually managed to assassinate L'Au.
