L'Au (died c. 1791) was a former French Army colonel who orchestrated a series of brutal mail-coach robberies in Paris during the French Revolution, all performed in the Les Invalides district.
During the French Revolution, L'Au had a henchman named Jacques deliver stolen items to him through packages, using the Revolution as a means to get money. L'Au's actions caught the French Assassins' attention, and the Assassin Council sent Arno Dorian to stop his operation. Arno tailed Jacques and killed him, stealing the package. Once at L'Au's headquarters, Arno told the guards that Jacques was indisposed and gave them the package, in the process learning that L'Au was the enterprise's mastermind. Although the guards accosted him demanding that he leave the area, Arno eventually managed to assassinate L'Au, ending his murder spree.[1]
