Javed (died 860s), also known as Al-Kulullû (English: The Fish-Man) or The Harbormaster, was a Abbasid military leader and a member of the Order of the Ancients.
Biography
In the 860s, under the alias Al-Kullulu, he was instructed alongside Al-Anqa by Al-Pairika to seize foreign goods in the Karkh district of Baghdad. Under specific advisement, Javed was searching for an ancient Chinese hairpin within all of the foreign goods before it made into auction space of the Da'irat Al-mal. Unfortunately, he was unable to find the hairpin, which made its way into auction. In response, Al-Pairika sent a letter noting his failure and how she must acquire the hairpin personally. Nevertheless, Javed continued to seize the foreign merchants' wares, especially of Chinese merchant Kong.[1]
However, Kong informed his former thief and Alamut Hidden One Basim Ibn Ishaq of his predicatement, which Basim investigated. Basim soon determined Javed's affilation with the Order and tracked him down at the Harbor Camp. Infiltrating the camp, Javed was quickly assassinated by Basim and recovered a note for Kong to retrieve his wares from the camp.[1]
