This article is about George II of Great Britain. For other uses, see King George.

George II (9 November 1683 – 25 October 1760), sometimes referred to as George Augustus of Hanover, was King of Great Britain and Ireland, and Duke of Brunswick-Lüneburg from his ascendancy on 22 June 1727 until his death.

In 1748, King George aided Frederick I of Sweden financing his fleet. The Swedish Brotherhood of Assassins, who operated under the Swedish Levant Company, started speculating some Templar influences in King George's court.

He was succeeded by his grandson, George William Frederick.
