George Eden, 1st Earl of Auckland (25 August 1784 – 1 January 1849) was an English politician and colonial administrator, serving as Governor-General of India from 1836 to 1842.

Biography

Throughout his life, Auckland served as First Lord of the Admiralty three times. After being appointed Governor-General of India in 1836, he became vital in the expansion of commercial industry in the region.
