Edmund's Hope was an abandoned church in southern East Anglia.
History
In the 870s, Eivor Varinsdottir of the Raven Clan came across Edmund's Hope and entered inside the nearly demolished church. Within the altar room, Eivor caught sight of a nun praying to her Lord while surrounded by dead Norsemen. Confronting Eivor, the nun, Aelfwyn, demanded Eivor to leave or face her wrath. Eivor asked about the dead bodies but Aelfwyn was dictated by God to strike them down as well as Eivor. In a reluctant fight, Eivor fought and killed the combative nun inside the church.[1]
