Deva Victrix as seen from the harbour

Deva Victrix was a very large Anglo-Saxon occupied fortress along the River Dee west of Goodwinlec.

Build above a waterfall, it was the main encampment of the area and heavily fortified and spanned both sides of the river, being connected by a narrow bridge.[1] In the 9th century, it was raided multiple times by Viking shieldmaiden Eivor Varinsdottir of the Raven Clan who claimed Saint George's Holy Sword from the champion residing here[2], Vagn, and their raiding crew on his longship.
