Deva Victrix was a very large Anglo-Saxon occupied fortress along the River Dee west of Goodwinlec.
Build above a waterfall, it was the main encampment of the area and heavily fortified and spanned both sides of the river, being connected by a narrow bridge.[1] In the 9th century, it was raided multiple times by Viking shieldmaiden Eivor Varinsdottir of the Raven Clan, Vagn and their raiding crew on her longship, who claimed Saint George's Holy Sword from the champion residing here.[2]
