Adewale was a former slave from Trinidad, and a member of the Assassin Order. He was Edward Kenway's first mate aboard the Jackdaw.[1]
During the Golden Age of Piracy, Adewale pointed out scenes of interest to the pirate Assassin, who could then intervene or ignore them. At some point, he helped Edward gain the Jackdaw and its crew.[2][3]He is loyal to his crew, and Edward, as evident by the cutscene at the start of the 'Fort Gameplay' shown at gamescom 2013.
