Chadwick, also known as Chadwick, Monger of Gossips, was an Anglo-Saxon flyter who lived in Northwic in East Anglia during the 9th century.
During the 870s, Chadwick encountered the Viking shieldmaiden Eivor Varinsdottir and challenged her to a flyting challenge, which Eivor won.[1]
Behind the scenes
The name Chadwick is an English name of Anglo-Saxon origin meaning "town or village of Chad". It is a combination of the name Chad and the Old English word wic.
